Introduction – Cydney Rogers

Hello! My name is Cydney, here is a brief introduction:

One of my favourite hikes on Vancouver Island, Caleb Pike to Jocelyn Hill.

Born and raised in Victoria, BC.

I am currently in my fourth year of my BSc, major in statistics. My last semester at UVic is this fall so I plan to graduate in spring 2027. There are many different career paths for my degree, so I am trying to figure out what certain subject interest me. One of the career options I have pondered, is becoming a college professor, teaching statistics. This course will be an asset for that path as it will show alternative ways of learning and therefore provide a better way to illustrate complex statistical concepts.

This was at the base of the Enchantments hike in Leavenworth, Washington.

Outside of school, I am passionate about spending time outdoors. Whether that is hiking, running, at the beach, playing sports, or simply spending time with friends.
